Terms of Service
Mundane Browser — Terms of Use Last updated: April 20, 2025
1. What Mundane is
Mundane is a free, open-source desktop browser built on Electron. It is provided as-is by Ali Calimli, a Front-end Engineer. By downloading and using Mundane, you agree to these terms.
2. Free to use
Mundane is free. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or payments required.
3. Open source license
Mundane’s source code is released as open source on GitHub. Your use of and contributions to the source code are governed by the MIT license specified in the repository (check the LICENSE file in the GitHub repo for the exact terms).
These Terms of Use apply to the compiled application, not the source code.
4. Your responsibility as a user
Mundane is a browser — it gives you access to the internet. You are responsible for:
- The websites you visit and the content you access
- Complying with the laws of your country while browsing
- Keeping your downloaded version updated for security fixes
Mundane’s ad blocker and privacy defaults reduce exposure to trackers, but they are tools, not guarantees. No browser can guarantee complete anonymity or security on the internet.
5. No warranty
Mundane is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind — express or implied. This includes but is not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security against all threats
As an early-stage, independently maintained project, there may be bugs, crashes, or missing features. We appreciate your patience and bug reports.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ali Calimli is not liable for any damages arising from your use of Mundane Browser — including data loss, security incidents caused by websites you visit, or interruptions in service.
7. Updates
Mundane checks for updates automatically. We recommend keeping the app updated as updates may include important security fixes. We reserve the right to stop supporting older versions at any time.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, where the developer is based.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. The “Last updated” date will reflect any changes. Continued use of Mundane after changes means you accept the updated terms.
